Grokio Community Gatherings are casual meetups organized by members of one of our communities in a friendly, relaxed setting. On Grommr these gatherings are known as GrommOffs, on Feabie they’re called Feabie Meets and on Ferzu they're known as Ferzu Events.
We think our social networks are great. Just great. But we also know there’s no substitute to getting out from behind the screen and meeting others from the community face-to-face. GrommOffs, Feabie Meets and Ferzu Events are about meeting new people, building friendships and strengthening the bonds of our community.
These gatherings can take many forms, ranging from a single meet-up to an all-day affair with multiple activities. Some common activities include picnics in the park; lunches or dinners at a local restaurant; bowling; drinks at bars friendly to our communities; house parties; beach excursions and more. Many gatherings will combine multiple activities.
All Grokio Community Gatherings are organized by community members who have been vetted by the Grokio Team to ensure their reliability. And because the safety of women is a priority, all Feabie Meets are organized by or with the support of at least one woman who will also be in attendance.
If you’re interested in organizing a GrommOff, Feabie Meet or Ferzu Event in your area, visit How Do I Become an Organizer.
All GrommOffs, Feabie Meets and Ferzu Events are open to members of those communities, respectively, as well as those who appreciate them. If an attendee would like to bring a guest who is not a member or appreciator of that Grokio community, they must get prior approval from the organizer. Any attendee who violates Grokio Community Gatherings Ground Rules may be prevented from attending future gatherings.
Grokio Community Gatherings are just one kind of event. Many kinds of events are posted in our events sections by members that are not official GrommOffs, Feabie Meets or Ferzu Events--and we certainly encourage people to check them out. What makes Grokio Community Gatherings unique is that: They are open to all community members who follow the Ground Rules; they are not sexual in nature; and they are organized by someone who has been vetted by Grokio and has committed to ensuring the safety of all attendees.
